LinkedIn Ads
Authorize a LinkedIn Campaign Manager account and sync campaign and company engagement data.
LinkedIn Ads supplies campaign performance and company-level engagement used by Reports, Incidents, and Accounts.
Required LinkedIn access
Authorize with a LinkedIn member who can access the intended active Campaign Manager ad account. Marcenta requests access to read advertising account and reporting data. The account list reflects the member's current LinkedIn permissions.
The LinkedIn member signed in during OAuth becomes the authorizing member. One selected Campaign Manager account connection serves the active Marcenta workspace; individual representatives do not connect separately.
Verify access in LinkedIn Campaign Manager
- Sign in to LinkedIn as the member who will authorize Marcenta and open Campaign Manager.
- Select the intended ad account.
- In the left menu, open Account settings → Manage access.
- Find the member and review the assigned ad-account role. Viewer can view campaign performance and download reports and is sufficient for Marcenta's read-only connection. Higher campaign, account, or billing roles are not required solely for Marcenta.
- Confirm the account is active and that the displayed account name and ID match the account that should appear in Marcenta.
- Confirm two-factor authentication is enabled for the LinkedIn member, as Campaign Manager requires it.
An Account manager can add the member or change its role from Account settings → Manage access. If the ad account has been claimed by LinkedIn Business Manager, sign in to Business Manager, open Ad accounts in the left menu, select the ad account, and review the people who have access. A Business Manager administrator or an account manager can select Add people, choose the member, and assign the required ad-account role.
See LinkedIn's guides to Campaign Manager roles, editing ad-account access, and adding people through Business Manager.
Connect
- Open Connections → LinkedIn Ads.
- Start LinkedIn authorization.
- Review and grant the requested advertising access.
- Select the active Campaign Manager account.
- Complete setup and wait for the initial import.
Only one ad account is selected for a connection. Verify its name and identifier when multiple regional or business-unit accounts are available.
Data and downstream use
Campaign data supports reporting and incident detection. Company-level engagement supports Accounts, where uploaded target companies can be matched to LinkedIn companies and analyzed for impressions, clicks, spend, CTR, CPC, campaign reach, and conversions.
Company matching and activity processing can continue after the connector import finishes.
Manage
Open the connection to review status and sync information, import historical data, change the selected advertising account, reconnect, or disconnect.
Switching ad accounts changes future imports and can change which company matches and account-level activity are meaningful. Review Accounts, reports, and incidents before switching.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| No ad accounts appear | Confirm the LinkedIn member can open the account in Campaign Manager |
| The account is present but inactive | Select an active account or resolve its provider-side status |
| Campaign totals differ | Match ad account, date range, currency, time zone, attribution, and provider processing |
| Accounts has no activity | Verify the LinkedIn connection, company match, and selected analysis period |
| The connection previously worked | Confirm the member's Campaign Manager role and authorization remain active |
Company matching can be ambiguous. Review the company name and domain before treating account-level activity as belonging to a target account.
