# Google Analytics 4

> Authorize Google Analytics, select a GA4 property, and sync website analytics.

Google Analytics 4 supplies website sessions, users, events, conversions, traffic dimensions, and related analytics data for reports and detection.

## Required Google access [#required-google-access]

Authorize with a Google user that can view the required Google Analytics account and GA4 property. Marcenta requests read-only Analytics access. The user does not need broader Google Workspace administration solely for this connection.

The Google identity used during OAuth becomes the authorizing user. One selected GA4 property connection serves the active Marcenta workspace; individual representatives do not connect separately.

## Verify access in Google Analytics [#verify-access-in-google-analytics]

1. Sign in to Google Analytics using the identity that will authorize Marcenta.
2. Select the intended Analytics account and GA4 property.
3. Open **Admin**.
4. Under **Property**, select **Property access management** and search for the user's email. Confirm its effective role includes at least **Viewer**. Viewer can access property data through the Google Analytics APIs and is sufficient for Marcenta's read-only connection.
5. Review any data restrictions attached to the user. Confirm they do not hide cost or revenue metrics that the workspace expects to analyze.
6. If access is inherited from the account, under **Account** select **Account access management**, search for the user, and confirm the inherited role applies to the intended property.

An Analytics Administrator at the relevant account or property level can add the Google user or change its role from the corresponding **Access management** page. Grant **Viewer** unless the person needs broader Analytics capabilities outside Marcenta; Editor or Administrator access is not required for this connection.

## Connect [#connect]

1. Open **Connections → Google Analytics 4**.
2. Start Google authorization and grant read access.
3. Select the Google Analytics account.
4. Load and select the GA4 property.
5. Complete setup and wait for the initial import.

Confirm the property name and identifier. Similar production, staging, and regional properties can be easy to confuse.

## Data considerations [#data-considerations]

GA4 data is affected by the property's time zone, reporting identity, attribution, event definitions, consent configuration, filters, and provider-side processing. The most recent period can remain incomplete while Google finalizes it.

## Manage [#manage]

The management page shows the selected property, state, and sync information. Depending on status, you can sync now, import history, change the property, reconnect, or disconnect.

Changing the property affects future imports. Existing reports and incidents can still contain data from the previous selection, so review downstream use before switching.

## Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]
